Cook arrested by Ramamurthynagar police for peddling Marijuana drugs,20kg Drugs worth Rs.6 Lakhs Seized:

The East Division police of Ramamurthynagar police have arrested a 42-year-old man and recovered 20 lakh marijuana worth Rs 6 lakh from him.

The accused has been identified as,Subba Reddy, native of Nellore and working as cook in a paying Guest accomodation in Jayanagar.

DCP East, Dr.SD Sharanappa,told reporters,that as the karnataka Government has announced lockdown due to increase in Covid cases so the peddlers will utilise this time in selling drugs substances to their clients and the supply would be more in the city.

As the Ramamurthynagar area is a standard area and many IT company employees stay here and the demand for Ganja supply will be in high demand and utilising this the peddlers will be supplying to their customers in high price.

A special team was formed by ACP, Ningappa B Sakkri,under the leadership of PI,Melwin Francis and their crime team were asked to be alert to nab the peddlers.

Our Ramamurthynagar Inspector received a credible information from their reliable inputs that a car will pass through Ramamurthynagar main road in which the accused is hiding huge quantity of Ganja Marijuana drugs in his car.

Based on reliable inputs the Inspector and team intercepted a car on suspect and when the team checked his backseat our team got some doubt and asked the car owner to open the backseat the team found that the accused created a secreat compartment at the backseat of the car to conceal the marijuana neatly packed in plastic covers to hoodwink security checks.

The team arrested the accused red handed and took him to station for further questioning during interrogation the accused confessed the crime and revealed that he used to source the drug from his contact in Vishakapatnam,smuggled in into the city and sell it to local peddlers and consumers .

The accused confessed that he bought the drugs for Rs.10,000 to sell it in the city for Rs 25,000 per kilo due to the high demand during lockdown.

A detailed investigation by the team it has revealed that the accused has also misused the travel pass facility which was given by the police for emergency inter state travel.

The team has seized 20 Kilograms of Marijauna Worth of Rs.6 lakhs and a Hyunda City car worth of Rs.4 lakhs has been seized from him and a case under NDPS Act has been registered in Ramamurthynagar police station and further investigation is on.

The police have taken him into custody to investigate further his network.

Finally Bengaluru Police Commissioner,Kamal Pant has appreciated,Addl CP East,S Murugan,DCP East,Dr.SD Sharanappa,ACP Banaswadi Sub-Division,Ningappa B Sakkri,PI,Melwin Francis,PSI,Shivaraj G,and crime staff as,Mahesh,Prakash Shivsharan,Santhosh Kumar,Mohan,and other staff who has successfully nabbed the accused and recovered 20kg Marijuana drugs from him and for the exemplary work done by the team a suitable reward will be given to the team he added.
