Remdesivir Blackmarketing racket busted Six held 30 Vials Seized by Hennur,SJ Park and CCB Police:

The Hennur police on Saturday arrested two persons and seized 17 vials of remdesivir from them.

The accused has been identified as, Shanmugaiah Swamy, 33, native of Yadgir and resident of Malleswaram and his associate Mallesh,31,from Shivamoga and residing in Sanjeevininagar were caught red handed near Reliance fresh on Hennur main road.

DCP East,Dr SD Sharanappa,told media persons,that our Hennur police inspector Vasanth Kumar got a credible information that two persons are in possession of Covid drug as anti-viral drug Remdesivir and are selling in black.

Based on information Inspector and team rushed to the spot and kept a close watch on the suspects near Reliance fresh they were waiting and when those duo were selling the vials to their clients our team zeroed in on them and apprehended them.

The duo were caught red handed While trying to sell the vials in public.

During investigation it was revealed that the duo was offering to sell each vial for Rs 15,000.The duo has been booked under cheating and also under drugs control Act and efforts are on to ascertain the source of the injections.

Meanwhile the SJ Park police inspector Shivakumar and team caught two persons claiming to be pharmacy officers from BBMP while selling remdesivir injections to the public near Dasappa Memorial hospital SJP road on Thursday .

Based on a tip off,a team of officials led by Nagaraju ASI,caught,Praveen,41,from Konanakunte and his associate Srinath MS,(35) from KR Puram.The police recovered five vials of the injections along with the ID card which stated that they are pharmacy officers of BBMP.

The accused told the police that they have sourced the injections from their contact Identified as Muddanna,employee with Karnataka State drugs and logistics godown situated in Rajajinagar.

Muddanna reportedly sold each injections for Rs 15,000 while the accused were offering to sell the injections for Rs 25,000.

The police have taken the accused into custody and further investigation are on.

Meanwhile CCB sleuths arrested staff nurse of Fortis hospital and private ambulance driver for selling Remdesivir vials in black.

Based on a tip off, a team of police raided a place in Basaveshwaranagar and arrested staff nurse Santosh and Sunil,ambulance driver.

The CCB recovered 8 vials of remdesivir from them.The duo has been taken into custody and further investigation are on.
