The CCB police of OCW wing arrested a gang of four who were planning to commit robberies on behest of their leader who is giving them instructions from central prison of Parappana Agragara where he is cooling his heels in a murder case since last year.
The accused has been identified as,Nagaraja,31, Chandregowda,31,Kumara,28 and Gopala,31 were arrested while they were waiting at an isolated place on Uttarahalli road to attack passers by.
Senior officer told media persons that a tip off was received by our OCW wing ACP,Dharmendra that a group of people are doing preparation of robbery near Uttarahalli main road and are in possession of lethal weapons acting on a tip off the team rushed to the spot and detained all the four and seized the lethal weapons.
During Investigation the accused confessed the crime and revealed that the accused are associates of notorious rowdy Auto Rama who is in jail and operating from inside and giving them instructions to commit robberies and get money for him.
The accused Nagaraj is brother of Auto Rama who is getting instruction for organising the gang and executing robberies to arrange money,the police said.
The accused have been taken into custody to ascertain if they were involved in any criminal activities in the recent past and we have recovered Lethal weapons from the accused and booked them under preparation for robbery in Kengeri police station and further investigation is on.
Finally Bengaluru Police Commissioner, Kamal Pant has appreciated,Joint CP Crime, Sandeep Patil, DCP Crime-1,KP Ravikumar,ACP, Dharmendra and his team as,PI,Girish Naik and other staff for the commendable job done by them who has nabbed the notorious gang who were armed with lethal weapons and foiled the robbery preparation acting swiftly a suitable reward will be given to the team he added.
