Continuing investigation into FDA question paper leak,the CCB on Sunday arrested a total number of 15 persons including a KPSC employee from Bagalkot involved in the racket.
The prime accused in the racket so far is Chandru,who is working as inspector in commercial tax vigilance squad.Chandru was running the racket along with his associate Rachappa,a native of Belguam and selected as Second Division Assistant.
Investigation so far revealed that chandru obtained the question paper two days ago and prepared a answer scripts in handwritten and give it to his customers in person.
Senior officer told media persons,that a credible information was received by our ACP, Venugopal and team that the KPSC FDA exams question paper has been leaked and some have got the answer scripts.
Based on the information a team rushed to the spot and kept a close watch on the suspects and followed their movements.
As our team with vital clues knocked the door of Kingpin Chandru when he entered the house our team went in plain clothes and told her parents that there son as hit their car and escape so we came her. Her mother said to our team that their son is not there and she was ready to pay for the damage done.
But our team found some suspicious and entered the house and during search they found Answer scripts with Chandru at his house which was handwritten our team apprehended him.
Then our team asked the accused Chandru to call his associates who are part of this racket so on the pretext of delivering the hand-written answer our team nabbed another person by name Rachappa.
The team grilled them and based on their statement our team has arrested totally 15 people including a KPSC employee from Bagalkot has been arrested who is involved in the racket says sources.
Sources even said,His name is Ramesh Herakal.Resident of jamakhandi in Bagalakot.He works as SDA in KPSC and close contact of prime accused Chandru.
Soon after the arrest of prime accused Chandru and Rachappa,Ramesh had escaped to his native but CCB tracked him on Sunday.
Preliminary investigation revealed that he got the paper and passed on to Chandru who prepared answer scripts and selling it to his contacts.The price ranging from RS.10 lakh said sources.
We have taken both the prime accused kingpin Chandru and Rachappa into custody to ascertain the details he added.
The CCB are now probing further who had leaked the question paper. CCB suspect insiders in KPSC based on the confession made by the accused.
Investigation revealed that the accused never share the question papers on whatsApp or online fearing that it would be a digital evidence in case if they are arrested.
The CCB officials are analyzing the call record details to ascertain their network and those who benifited.
The gang was arrested in Ullal on Saturday after the police received a tip off.When the team arrived at the location, they found some of his associates waiting on the side of the road with the question papers and answer scripts.The police also seized Rs.35 lakh in cash and three vehicles from them.According to the police, they would used the vehicles to circulate the papers to their customers.
Home Minister and Law minister Basavaraj Bommai,said addressing media on Sunday morning a detailed investigation will be done in the case and who ever is involved in the question paper leaking case stringent action will be taken as of now totally 14 people have been arrested by the CCB and further investigation is on.
