The South Division Police of Kumaraswamy layout police busted Inter-state drug racket arrested two and recovered LSD strips worth Rs 1.39 crore including 27.5 lakhs from them.
The two accused drug peddlers are identified as Rahul Tulsiram Sharma,28,of BTM layout,and Balaji C,42,of Salem in Tamilnadu.
Senior officer told media persons,The racket was busted on Monday following a tip off that a man was peddling drugs near a private hospital.
Based on tip off the kumaraswamy layout police inspector P Shivakumar and his crime team rushed to the spot and rounded up Rahul Tulsiram Sharma,28 red handed with couple of LSD strips in his possession.
During interrogation the accused confessed the crime that he is peddling drugs and was waiting for his clients to deliver the drugs.
Our team grilled him during investigation he spilled the beans that he and his associates are peddling drugs.
Based on his information the police team swung into action and arrested his associate Balaji C and recovered 9300 strips,cash Rs.27.5 lakh, mobile phones and laptop from his possession.
The accused is native of Pune residing in BTM layout.A detailed investigation by the team has revealed that the accused Rahul Tulsiram Sharma is a habitual offender arrested by Konanakunte police last year.
He was jailed but he came out on bail and continue to peddle drugs.
He even said that these peddlers ran their trade using social media platforms mainly message platforms like Whatsapp,Facebook Messengers and various other means of messaging sites.
When asked how they used to procure the synthetic drugs,he clarified that so far all synthetic drugs are procured from the dark web and this case too is no different,but the police are on the lookout for the person who operates this cartel.
Our team are now analyzing call record details and laptops to ascertain the source of drugs and the network. A case has been registered in Kumaraswamy layout police station against the accused under NDPS Act and further investigation is on.
