Farm Bills : Massive rally by Congress Police detain congress leaders during Raj Bhavan Chalo Rally:

The police on Wednesday detained several Congress leaders including Leader of the Opposition Siddaramaiah,KPCC president DK Shivakumar and Dr.G.Parameshwara along with hundreds of party workers when they attempted to march towards Raj Bhavan in a protest against the farm laws enacted by the Central government.

Protesters were stopped near Maharani Circle and escorted to the City Armed Reserve (CAR) ground on Mysore Road.

Former Home Minister Ramalinga Reddy and KPCC working president Eshwar Khandre along with some of their supporters were detained when they arrived at Raj Bhavan to submit a memorandum to the President through the governor’s office.

We demand that the three farm laws be withdrawn immediately.We support the ongoing protest by farmers in Delhi,said Mr.Reddy before the police detained him.

MLA Sowmya Reddy Refutes allegations and complains to commissioner of police :

Sowmya Reddy,MLA Jayanagar assembly constituency on Wednesday complained to city police commissioner alleging aggressive behaviour of the police during a Rajbhavan chalo rally organised by Congress.

Ms.Reddy refuted the allegations that she had assaulted women police stating that it’s rumour spread in the media.

The women police surrounded the women protestors and manhandled,treated us like criminals.They pulled our hair and sari and pushed to make uncomfortables,she said.

I was thirsty and feeling giddineds and merely fainted, by then I held a police woman standing near by.

I don’t harm animals,how can I assault human being especially police personnel.I am wrongly being portrayed in the media.I understand police are doing their duty but they should be sensitive especially when women are peacefully protesting.

Many women MLAs have experienced similar agrresive behaviour today, she stated in her petition to the commissioner.

The Bengaluru police had denied permission for the protest organised by the Congress :

Earlier in the day,traffic was disrupted in and around Majestic when thousands of protesters marched from City Railway Station to Freedom Park.Motorists were diverted to adjacent roads after traffic came to a near standstill on Sheshadri Road,Nrupatunga Road and Race Course Road.
