Under various schemes of the Ministry,122 projects costing Rs.879.02 crore under education sector and 35 projects costing Rs.612.12 crore under health sector have been sanctioned and are ongoing.
Several initiatives have been planned to improve the Air, Rail Inland Waterways, Road & Digital connectivity in the Region. These inter-alia include a new airport at Holongi, Arunachal Pradesh, upgradation of Airports at Guwahati, Imphal, Dibrugarh etc.; Agartala-Akhaura new rail link project, capital rail connectivity with Gangtok(Rangpo), Imphal, Kohima(Zubza) and Aizawl(Sairang); development of Barak waterways; new bridges across Brahmaputra at Jogighopa, Dhubri-phulbari; wi-fi connectivity for village panchayats in NER and mobile connectivity in all States.
