The park extends over an area of 87.50 km2 and occupies place in UNESCO world heritage site. The high altitude Himalayan valley offers with vivid flora and fauna and is a must go destination for mountaineers, botanist and wild – life enthusiast.
Govind Ghat near Joshimath acts as a base camp to start the adventurous trek. After a night halt at Govind Ghat get ready to move for Ghangria which involves a trek of 14kms. Next day get ready for high altitude trek of 5kms in order to feast your eyes with nature’s finest creations ‘the myriad of colorful flowers in full bloom with snowcapped mountains in the backdrop and the iridescent butterfly perching from flowers to flowers.
The valley can be visited year round but maximum variety of flowers can be experienced during the month of July and August. The valley majestically changes its color as time progresses and leaves you spellbound. The trek ranked as easy to moderate is popular among beginners and avid trekkers
