Fake Marks Card Scam Busted by Koramangala Police,1 Arrested :
The Koramangala police have arrested a MBA graduate from Andhra Pradesh and busted the fake marks card scam racket.
The accused has been identified as Arjuna,30,of Ranga Reddy district in Andhra Pradesh.
The accused has issued fake marks cards of various educational institutions to unemployed youths.
The accused has came to Bengaluru in the year 2015 looking for Job and for about 1 year he used to work in study centre.
He would contact the unemployed youths who were looking for job
and it is alleged that he has collected around Rs.1 Crore from victims.
Modus operandi :
The accused used to find students who have had a gap of three to four years after PUC or have done only one year of degree course. One such person to whom Arjun had promised to give a degree marks card from Periyar University approached the police after which the cops raided the office to find many marks sheets and birth, degree, and PG certificates with names of candidates written on them. There were many blank certificates too in his possession.
Senior officer,told media persons that,as on 19th September a victim with many others have registered a complaint in Koramangala Police station against one person by name Arjun of Good Guide educational institution or Academy they stated in their complaint that they have been cheated by this institution as they have cheated many unemployed youths by promising them to issue marks cards of various educational institutions and the same they have issued to us without conducting any exams and after verifying it we got to know that it is a fake marks card they stated,and based on the complaint,DCP Southeast,Dr.M.B.Boralingaiah formed a special team under the supervision of ACP Madiwala sub division Somegowda a team headed by Koramangala inspector Manjunath and PSI,Smt.Eshwari Suresh and team swung into action and the team conducted raid on Good Guide Academy located in 5th block koramangala in Jyothi Nivas college road and seized around 100 fake fabricated marks card with 2 Answer sheets of Mangalore university was found in his possession and with this the team has successfully busted the fake marks card scam and arrested Arjun the owner of the institution and during the course of investigation he has confessed the crime and a detailed investigation by the team it was come to light that the accused has come to Bengaluru in 2015 and he used to work in a study centre as Business development manager and in the year 2016 after getting idea how to cheat people he started his own institution near Jyothi Nivas college by name Good Guide Academy and he used to collect data base of unemployed youths and his employees as telecallers used to call the youths that join our study centre we will issue you marks card and PG certificates of reputed universities where you can get good placement in abroad US also and his partner was Nagendra Prasad who has started a business with Memorandum of understanding and it is alleged that they have cheated more than 300 people and they used to charge them Rs.45,000 to 60,000 and as one youth marks card was rejected by the University which helped us in busting the racket and our team will verify whether the management of reputed universities are linked in this scam or not and our team will carry out further investigation that how many are been cheated and how he has got Mangalore universitiy Answer sheets with him a detail investigation will be carried out by the team a case has been registered in Koramangala Police station and further investigation is on and we feel this is a big scam and needs to be tackled soon.There are many people who have managed to get jobs in private firms with such fake certificates. It is only when the background verification is done by the companies that their fraud is revealed and many have lost jobs after that and massive manhunt is on  for the absconded accused and finally Bengaluru Police Commissioner,T.Suneel Kumar,has appreciated,Addl CP East,Seemanth Kumar Singh,DCP,southeast,Dr.M.B.Boralingaiah, ACP,Madiwala Sub-division,G.U.Somegowda,PI,B.S. Manjunath,PSI,Smt.Eshwari.Suresh and their crime staff who has done a exemplary work by busting the fake marks card scam and nabbing the accused who has cheated many youths to make easy money and lead a lavish lifestyle is cooling his heels in jail now he added.
