A four-day art exhibition featuring art works by police personnel was innaugrated at the chitra Kala parishad on Thursday evening by the Director General and Inspector General of Police,Smt.Neelmani N Raju as well as Rocking Star,Yash several senior police officials as,DGP-CID,Praveen Sood,ADGP-KSRP,Bhaskar Rao,ADGP-CID, Charan Reddy,ADGP- Crime,M.A.Saleem,ADGP-CLM,Malini Krishnamurthy,ADGP- Admin,Parashivamurthy,Nisha James,IPS,Commandant,IRB, Munirabad, DIG- KSRP,Dr.K.Tyagarajan,DCP-Central Division,Dr.Chandragupta,with retired senior police officers as,Retired DGP,and Artist Dr.Jija Hari Singh,Shri Munikrishna with luminaries from the field of the arts such as film and theatre actor Sanchari Vijay and renowned artist Rekha Hebbar Rao,exhibition curator Rajni Rekha,
were also present at the unique event which was held in Bengaluru by the Karnataka police department in association with Reves Art Gallery.
It is an art show by the Karnataka Police in association with Reves Art Gallery with nineteen artists participating in it.
The gallery named ‘Khaki Chronicle’will showcase paintings,Sketches and photographs at the Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath till July 1.Seventy artworks by 19 participants,including IPS officers and retired officers the participants are,Anoop A.Shetty,IPS,SP Koppal,Chand Basha B,Armed Police Constable,Davangere,Chand Pasha,Armed Head Constable,Koppal,Chinnaswamy P, Armed Head Constable,Mysuru,Devindra M,Armed Head Constable,6th Battalion,Kalaburagi,Dinesh D.N,Armed Head Constable,KGF,Dr.Jija Hari Singh,IPS,Retd DGP,Kariyappa.H.Hanchinamani,Armed Head Constable,Haveri,K.R.Manjunath,Armed Head Constable,Kodagu,Muttanna Madikeshwar,Armed Police Constable,Hubli,Malatesh Naik,Reserve Sub Inspector,8th Battalion,Shivamogga,Netravathi.G.S, Woman Police Constable,KGF,Nisha James,IPS,Commandant IRB,Munirabad,Prasannakumar G.S,Civil Police Constable,Mysuru,Somanand M.Gadakari,Armed Police Constable,Belagavi,Sarfraz Nawaz,Second Divisional Assistant,Kalaburagi,Sateesh Laxman Kogre,Armed Police Constable,Karwar,Sriramulu.K,Armed Head Constable,10th Battalion,Shiggavi,Vartika Katiyar,IPS,DCP CAR HQ,Bengaluru,Most of these policemen at the exhibition are showcasing their work for the first time on this scale.
The idea of Khaki chronicles came up after Sriramulu K a constable with KSRP brought a painting that had everyone in awe Nisha James told reporters,that Sriramulu’s painting brought out not only in the artist in him but also the fact that many in the force wanted to showcase their artistic skills.Artist Rajni Rekha of Reves Art gallery who is curating the event said the initial idea was to showcase the works of one police official but as days passed they received many entries and it was found that the works were extraordinary she added.
Cops don’t make an good intentions on people people fear with men in khaki .
Khaki strokes not with a lathi but a brush.This is where the creative spark in comes out.Those lathis looks in their hand menacing.Lathi wielding hands pick up brushes.The art works which are displayed at the exhibition are not by the well known artist it has by the cops.It was one of the kind artist exhibition is organised by Reves Art Gallery in association with Karnataka state police and Karnataka reserve police to encourage the creative and spirit in the police personnel of Karnataka.It is the first time that an all police stroke art exhibition in karnataka the main objective of Khaki Chronicle is to provide a platform to the policemen to their stress in routine.
It is a quite stressful for the police, Neelamani Raju DG&IGP of karnataka told media persons that.I am really happy to see that this angle of their talent and personality they have maintained and it is very distress of exercise to them.Khaki chronicles have showcased around 60-70.The exhibition aims to promote a holistic image of the police by helping the general public to see the beyond the uniform and acknowledge the unique humanity of the women and men wearing it she added.
There is usually a lot of stress in the police department.But when we do something like this,it calms us down and makes us happy Netravathi.G.S.Woman police Constable of KGF told reporters.
It is not the first time that KSRP is holding such events for its personnel. Last year, ADGP Rao had led a KSRP team on a cycling expedition covering 1,756km in 13 days.
