Kothanur police have busted honey trap gang 5 members gang including 3 women with two men has been arrested on charges of robbery and blackmailing innocent people .
The racket was busted when the gang tried to extort Rs.50,000 from a fish vendor who approached the police.
The accused have been identified as Shahina, 40, Noori Shama, 35, Salma Parvin, 27, Sajid Sheikh, 38, and Syed Shariff, 30.
Senior officer,told media persons that there Modus operandi,A women would lure businessmen and vendors to pre-designated places with the promise of sexual favours.Sajid and Syed would forcibly enter the room and take videos of the men and blackmail them citing the footage on various social media and even to their family members,The gang confessed to duping many people, but no one had complained so far fearing adverse publicity he added.
DCP,Northeast,Girish S,told media persons that based on a complaint Kothanur police Inspector who learnt about the gang and based on reliable inputs our team swung into action and secured all the five from the house in Hegdenagar where they used to run a racket of honey trap and we have already nabbed five people in connection with the honeytrap case.It has been learnt in the first stage of investigations that the accused would honeytrap innocents we have learnt these honeytrappers would make videos and blackmail people threatening them to file a police complaint against them. During raid we have recovered cash of Rs.5000 with 5 mobile phones and a two wheeler used for committing crime has been seized from their possession and all the five accused has been arrested and sent to judicial custody for further investigation and a massive manhunt is on for the other two suspects who are absconding and we are on a hunt for them and finally Bengaluru Police Commissioner,T Suneel Kumar, has appreciated, Addl CP East,Seemanth Kumar Singh, DCP Northeast,Girish S,and his whole team as ACP,Sampigehalli sub division, M H Nagathe,PI,H Hariappa,PSI,Subramani,and his crime staff as,Abdul Hameed,Tejendar,Vital S,Sathish,with women staff has been
