A complaint alleging the abduction of Bengaluru-based entrepreneur and influential BJP leader Ravi Prakash has been filed at the RR Nagar Police Station,with his family alleging that he was forcibly taken away by a group of men in an unnumbered vehicle.
According to the complaint,police from Maidukuru Police Station in Kadapa district of Andhra Pradesh allegedly came to Rajarajeshwari Nagar on Sunday and took Ravi Prakash away.
However, Ravi Prakash’s family has alleged that the men who arrived were not police personnel but persons claiming to be associated with Maidukuru MLA Putta Sudhakar.
Ravi Prakash is reportedly a prominent entrepreneur who owns a collection of more than 300 vintage cars.
He had earlier been named as the fifth accused in a murder case registered at Maidukuru Police Station,and the Andhra Pradesh police are said to have taken the latest action in connection with the case.
The family has alleged that Ravi Prakash was taken away in a vehicle without a registration number.
CCTV footage reportedly captured the entrepreneur being taken away, raising suspicions among his family members.
Land dispute behind alleged abduction:
The complaint is reportedly linked to a long-standing dispute over 14 acres of valuable land in RR Nagar belonging to Ravi Prakash.
According to his family,Ravi Prakash and MLA Putta Sudhakar have been involved in a prolonged legal dispute over the property.
The family has alleged that Sudhakar had visited the land last month and attempted to forcibly enter the property,leading to a confrontation.
Ravi Prakash’s daughter has alleged that the latest incident was part of an attempt to intimidate the family over the land dispute.
Based on the complaint lodged by Ravi Prakash’s family, RR Nagar Police have registered an abduction case against three persons,including MLA Putta Sudhakar, and have begun an investigation.
Police are examining CCTV footage and other evidence to establish who took Ravi Prakash away and under what circumstances.
