The Surya City Police have arrested a 35-year-old software engineer for allegedly firing multiple rounds from an air gun from the balcony of his apartment while under the influence of alcohol,damaging the window glass of a parked car.
The incident took place at Sipani Apartments on the outskirts of Bengaluru,within the limits of Surya City Police Station,in the early hours of Thursday.
The accused has been identified as Anurag Tiwari,a native of Lucknow,Uttar Pradesh.

He had been staying in the apartment for the past eight months and was employed at a private IT firm in Whitefield.
Senior officer said the incident occurred at around 2.30 am.Tiwari,who had allegedly consumed alcohol,had a heated argument with his family over the phone.
He then came onto the balcony of his apartment with an air gun and fired five to six rounds into the air.
Some of the pellets struck a car parked in the apartment premises,shattering one of its window panes.
Hearing the gunshots, security guards rushed to the spot and attempted to alert him by blowing whistles.
However,the accused allegedly fired a few more rounds in their direction.The guards escaped unhurt.
The police were subsequently alerted and reached the apartment complex,where they arrested Tiwari.The air gun and pellets were seized from his possession.
A case has been registered against the accused under the relevant provisions of the Arms Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).Further investigation is underway,police said.
