In an effort to reduce severe morning traffic congestion around Madiwala,Bengaluru Traffic Police will implement temporary traffic diversions on a trial basis from August 6,2026,between 8:00 am,and 10:30 am every day.
The move comes in response to increasing traffic volumes in the city,particularly the influx of vehicles entering Bengaluru from Tamil Nadu,Kerala,and Puducherry via National Highway-44 (NH-44).
The congestion has been affecting the movement of public transport and emergency vehicles, including ambulances,within the jurisdiction of the Madiwala Traffic Police Station.
Traffic Restrictions:
Vehicles travelling from S.P.Road (Sarjapur Road) Junction towards Madiwala Police Station Junction will not be allowed beyond S.P.Road (Sarjapur Road) Junction.
Vehicles coming from 100 Feet Road via Water Tank Junction and Ayyappa Junction towards Madiwala Police Station Junction will be stopped at Ayyappa Junction.
Alternative Route:
Motorists heading towards Madiwala Police Station Junction from S.P. Road (Sarjapur Road) Junction or via Water Tank Junction and Ayyappa Junction are advised to take the following route:
S.P. Road(Sarjapur Road)Junction→Left Turn→Right Turn→Madiwala Market Road→Left Turn→Hosur Main Road→Water Tank Junction→Krupanidhi→Madiwala Police Station Junction.
The traffic diversions are being introduced on a trial basis to facilitate smoother movement of vehicles during peak hours.
Bengaluru Traffic Police have appealed to commuters to cooperate with the arrangements and strictly follow traffic rules and directions issued by traffic personnel.
