A one-year-old girl died after she was allegedly run over by a car inside a residential premises in Madiwala on Saturday afternoon.
The Madiwala Police have registered a case against the driver under causing death by negligence.
According to the complaint,Prakash Pandey,the child’s father,who has been working as a security guard at a house in Dollars Scheme Colony near Someshwara Temple for the past five months,was present at the premises with his family on August 1.
His wife and their two daughters,aged six years and one year,were also staying at the location.
On Saturday At around 12.30 pm.,the house owner’s son, identified as Rahil Javed,19,allegedly asked the complainant to assist in taking out a parked car from the parking area.
While the complainant was cleaning another parked vehicle as instructed,he seated his one-year-old daughter inside the compound near the gate.
After finishing the task,the complainant noticed that the child was missing.
On looking beneath the moving car,he allegedly found that the front wheel of the vehicle driven by Rahil Javed had run over the child’s head,leaving her unconscious.
The family immediately rushed the child to a nearby hospital and was later referred to St.John’s Medical College Hospital,where doctors declared her brought dead.
Based on the father’s complaint, the Madiwala Police have registered a case against the driver for allegedly driving negligently and causing the death of the child. Further investigation is in progress.
