Man bludgeoned to death near temple in Kadugodi over trivial row accused arrested within hours

An onion merchant was crushed to death with a stone near a temple in the Kadugodi area of Bengaluru, following a personal dispute.

The accused has been arrested within hours of the incident.

According to the complaint filed by Shaila,her husband Ramachandra had been engaged in the onion trade in Bengaluru for several years.

During that time,he had developed an acquaintance with a woman named Manjula,and the two were reportedly in a relationship.

Ramachandra was said to frequently visit her residence in Patalamma Layout,Kadugodi.

The complaint further states that a local resident, identified as Harish,who lived near the Patalamma Temple,disapproved of Ramachandra’s visits.

This reportedly led to repeated confrontations between Harish and the deceased.

On the night of April 24,at around 8:00 PM, Ramachandra allegedly went to Manjula’s house in an inebriated state and later fell asleep near the temple premises.

Taking advantage of the situation,Harish is suspected to have attacked him with a large stone,resulting in his death.

Based on the complaint,Kadugodi Police registered a case under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).Police teams were immediately deployed to trace the accused.

Within a few hours,the police successfully apprehended Harish and brought him to the station.

Following interrogation,a voluntary statement was recorded,and the accused has been formally arrested.Further investigation is underway.
