The Peenya police have arrested a 45-year-old businessman for allegedly stomped his wife to death following a financial dispute on Thursday.
The accused,identified as Dhariyappa,a small-time businessman,allegedly killed his wife Kavya (35) after a heated argument at their residence.
Senior officer told reporters that ,they received information about the incident on Thursday afternoon and rushed to the spot.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the couple had frequent disputes over financial and domestic issues.
During one such argument,Dhariyappa allegedly assaulted Kavya and repeatedly kicked her on the neck, leading to her death,officer said.
The accused was subsequently taken into custody.
“A case is being registered,and the accused will be booked under relevant sections of murder.
The motive appears to be financial and domestic issues.Further investigation is underway to ascertain the exact circumstances,”a senior police officer said.
Police said they are continuing the probe to gather more evidence and verify the sequence of events leading to the crime.
