Acting on directions from the Bengaluru City Police Commissioner,a special operation was launched to trace Foreign Nationals illegally residing in the city.
Over the past few days,police units across the city have conducted coordinated raids to identify and take action against such individuals.
As part of the drive,200 foreign nationals who were found staying illegally in Bengaluru have been taken into custody.
In the early hours of March 6,four special teams of the Central Crime Branch (CCB) conducted a targeted operation in the jurisdictions of Kadugodi and Varthur police stations.
During the raid,police detained 124 Bangladeshi nationals who were allegedly living in makeshift sheds illegally.
Those detained include 48 men,42 women,and 34 children.
Senior officials said the individuals are currently being questioned.A report has been submitted to the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) for further legal action,including deportation proceedings.
The operation was carried out with the support of the Department of Health and Family Welfare,Greater Bengaluru Authority,and the Department of Social Welfare.
He further said the drive to identify and take action against illegal foreign nationals residing in Bengaluru will continue.
