On February 26 night, the house owner’s mother grew suspicious after noticing no movement in the house. Upon checking through the window, she spotted the woman lying motionless on the bed and alerted Shivakumar.

Shivakumar immediately informed the police. When officers broke open the door, they found Manjula dead on the bed, while Deepant was found hanging in another part of the house.

Preliminary investigation suggests that the man allegedly killed his wife following a family dispute and later recorded a selfie video in front of her body before ending his life.Police also recovered a death note written in Odia from his mobile phone.

The bodies, which were in a decomposed state, were shifted to a government hospital for post-mortem examination and later handed over to the family members.
