A massive fire broke out at a perfume warehouse due to suspected short circuit near Nelamangala on the outskirts of Bengaluru on Saturday afternoon,causing extensive damage to property.Fortunately,no casualties have been reported.
The incident occurred at a warehouse located near Makali on the Nelamangala Road.
Eyewitnesses said flames shot up into the sky, accompanied by loud bursting sounds, triggering panic in the surrounding area.
Around 40 employees working inside the warehouse managed to escape in time as the fire rapidly engulfed the premises.The blaze is also reported to have spread to a nearby AC godown.Vehicles parked inside the warehouse were completely gutted in the fire.
Fire and Emergency Services personnel rushed to the spot and are battling to bring the flames under control. Thick smoke was seen billowing from the site for several hours.
Police from Nelamangala arrived immediately after receiving information about the incident,conducted a preliminary inspection,and registered a case.
An investigation has been launched to ascertain the exact cause of the fire and assess the extent of the loss.
