Former CM close aide allegedly commited suicide at his residence over trivial row in Bengaluru

In a tragic incident,the 20-year-old son of a close aide of former Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai allegedly died by suicide at his residence in Lottegollahalli under Sanjaynagar police limits on Thursday night.

The deceased has been identified as Hemanth,son of Chandru,who serves as a Personal Secretary (PA) to the former Chief Minister.

According to preliminary information,Hemanth had an argument with his mother over giving jewellery to his sister.

Family sources said he was reportedly upset and questioned why his sister was given ornaments while he was not.Following the altercation,he went into his room and locked the door.

Despite being called for dinner later in the evening,he did not come out.It is learnt that he was speaking to friends on his mobile phone until around 8 pm and later switched off the device.The family suspected something was amiss when he remained unresponsive.

Around midnight,he was found hanging in his room.The family was reportedly preparing for a trip to Tirupati, and relatives had gathered at the house when the tragedy occurred.

Hemanth was pursuing Bcom at MES college in Malleshwaram .

The Sanjaynagar Police have registered a case of unnatural death and initiated further investigation.
