Ahead of New Year celebrations,the Central Crime Branch (CCB)Narcotics Control Wing has arrested a Nigerian National and a delivery executive and seized narcotic substances worth Rs.2.50 crore from separate operations in the city.
The Anti Narcotics wing officials arrested 45-year-old Christopher in Soladevanahalli Police Station,and seized 1 kg and 70 grams of MDMA crystal,60 ecstasy pills,Rs.2 lakh in cash,one mobile phone and a laptop.The total value of the seized items is estimated at Rs.2.25 crore.
Briefing the media persons Bengaluru City Police Commissioner Seemant Kumar Singh told reporters that the accused had arrived in India last year on a business visa and was allegedly sourcing MDMA at low prices from Foreign Nationals based in Delhi and Mumbai.He was preparing to supply the drugs to known customers during New Year celebrations.
Investigations revealed that the accused had been involved in drug peddling earlier as well.An NDPS case had previously been registered against him at Soladevanahalli Police Station,and he had been remanded to judicial custody.
After his release,he allegedly resumed drug trafficking activities.
Interstate Drug Peddler Arrested in Bandepalya
In another operation conducted within the limits of Bandepalya Police Station,the CCB Narcotics Wing arrested Naveen Raj,26 an interstate drug peddler and seized 100 LSD strips,5 grams of cocaine and a mobile phone used for the crime.The seized contraband is valued at Rs.25 lakh.
The accused,a native of TN,was working as a delivery executive for a online commercial company and also peddling drugs .
Police said he used to procure LSD strips and cocaine from unidentified persons at lower prices and sell them at higher rates to known customers,earning illegal profits.
