Truck driver held after ramming multiple vehicles in Anekal

In a series of accidents,a truck driver allegedly under the influence of alcohol rammed into more than six vehicles at different locations on Chandapura Road in Anekal taluk on Sunday afternoon,leaving two people seriously injured.

Senior officer said the Uttar Pradesh-registered truck was being driven by Prem (35), who was heading towards Chandapura from a warehouse in Attibele.

The driver allegedly first rammed into two vehicles in Anekal,seriously injuring two persons,before fleeing the spot.

He then went on to hit three more vehicles in the Surya City area and later rammed into another vehicle within the Attibele police station limits,police said.

The driver allegedly evaded the police and members of the public for nearly 10 km before being chased and intercepted him.They later thrashed him and later handed him over to the police.

He sustained injuries in the incident and is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital.

A case of rash and negligent driving has been registered at the Anekal police station.Police said the two injured persons are out of danger.
