As Diwali celebrations were underway across the country, a tragic incident occurred in Bengaluru on Monday morning,October 20,after a 34-year-old died after jumping from GT Mall on Magadi Road in Bengaluru, one of the city’s prominent shopping centres.
The K.P.Agrahara police station inspector and staff with Magadi Road and Govindarajnagar police station inspector and staff has visited the scene of crime and is investigating.
The police said that they are examining CCTV cameras in this regard.
Senior officer told reporters that the man identified as Sagar jumped from the third floor at around 10 am of the shopping centre.
A video of the incident has since gone viral on social media.The man died on the spot after receiving severe head injuries from falling from a height.
Sagar was unmarried,an engineering dropout, unemployed,and undergoing treatment for psychological issues.
A case has been registered by KP Agrahara police station under unnatural death and are investigating he added.
Last year,GT Mall was in the news for refusing entry to a man from Haveri who was wearing traditional farmer’s attire.This incident led to huge outrage and the mall was closed for 7 days.This incident,which took place on July 16,led to public outrage against the mall.
