Cracking a whip on the Unprofessionalism and corrupt practices,city police commissioner on Monday suspended two inspectors among four police personnel and initiated departmental inquiry against them.
The inspector Hanumantha Bhajantry attached to Halasurgate has been suspended along with an ASI and Constable on corruption charges,while Koramangala Inspector,L Rama Reddy,has been kept under suspension on the charges on the charges of dereliction of duty,City police Commissioner, Seemant Kumar Singh, said .
The accused officers have been suspended based on the report submitted by the DCPs of both Central and Southeast Division,who probed the allegations in details and found the officials guilty .
According to the police,Hanumanth Bhajantry allegedly extorted ₹10 lakh from a jeweller in a case related to him.
It may be recalled that the Inspector,on September 16 arrested two individuals in a breach of trust and fraud case,recovering 243 grams of gold ornaments worth approximately ₹24 lakh.
The same police had earlier cracked a case and arrested Mohanlal,32,a gold merchant for cheating a jeweller by promising to exchange 21-carat jewellery for 24-carat gold bars.
Police recovered 305.420 grams of gold and a gold-melting machine,with a total value of approximately ₹30 lakh.
City police commissioner during a weekly press conference appreciated the accused officer and awarded them and the same officer is suspended now, a senior officer,said .
There are multiple allegations of being involved in corrupt practice,extortion and other unethical practices, which is being probed .
There is a chances that he might suspended again even if this suspension is revoked,the officer added .
Koramangala Inspector Rama Reddy was suspended after a senior police officer on night rounds noticed majority of the Pubs,bars and restaurants are operating in Koramangala beyond prescribed time limits and reported the mater to the city police commissioner,who in turn ordered the jurisdictional Southeast division DCP to probe and submit a report .
Allowing the pubs,bars and restaurants beyond time limit not only violations of the city police commissioner order, but also leads to anti social activities and threat to law and order .
The inspector in-charge should ensure that the rules are followed or he might have allowed deliberately for some personal gain,which is being probed,further .
