A 19-year-old BSc student met watery grave when he tried to save his friend from drowing in panchamukhi river in Champakadhama temple in Bannerghatta on Saturday.
While the fire and emergency service personnel recovered the body of Deepak,the rescue team later trace the body of Yogeshwaran and the operation was called off due to bad light.
The victims are student of St.Francis college in Hebbagodi and gone to Chanpakadhama temple along with three other friends.
The duo ventured into water and drowned since they did not know how to swim.
Noticing Yogeshwaran was drowning and struggling and shouting for help,Deepak who did not know swimming jumped into water and both drowned.
The others who rushed to get help and by the time the help came there were no sign of the duo.
The Bannerghatta police along with fire and emergency rescue team rushed to the spot and managed to recover deepak body after three hours of operation.
