KSRTC gets e-bus prototype,to start trial run between Benglauru and Mysuru Fame ll scheme, Accident Insurance of Rs.1 Crore to drivers kin,with Inter-Corporation transfer of 1013

T ransport and Scheduled Tribes Welfare Minister,B Sriramulu and MLA Holalkere Assembly Constituency & Chairman KSRTC at its Central Office,Bangalore flagged of Inter-City Prototype electric bus,Distribution of Rs.1 crore Accident Insurance amount to the dependents of deceased Driver,Issue of Inter-Corporation transfer order to 1013 Employees,Release of Internal periodical Publication news magazine ‘Sarige Sampada’ was flagged off.

1) Introducing KSRTC Inter-City (Prototype) Electric Bus.

The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation would operate 50 inter-city Air Conditioned Electric buses in the coming days under the Government of India’s “Make in India” FAME II Scheme.

KSRTC has chosen its Electric Bus name as ‘EV- Power Plus’ with a tagline ‘e-Xperience e-levated’ from the numerous entries it received by the public in the contest it organised.

After the success of the KSRTC intercity (Prototype) Electric Bus introduced today, all the remaining Electric buses would be put into operation in the following routes.

 Bangalore – Mysore
 Bangalore-Madikeri
 Bangalore – Virajpet
 Bangalore- Davangere
 Bangalore- Shimoga
 Bangalore – Chikkamagaluru

Electric Charging centres for the buses have already been set up in Bangalore and Mysore,While set up of Charging Centres are under progress in the following centres.

 Madikeri
 Virajpet
 Davanagere
 Shivamogga
 Chikkamagalur

2) Distribution of Rs.1 crore Accident Insurance amount to the dependents of deceased Driver.

KSRTC has launched 2 different Accident Insurance Scheme together amounting Rs.1 crore for welfare of all the employees.

Zero premium 50 lakhs Accident Insurance is under MoU made between KSRTC & State Bank of India through their Corporate Salary Package Scheme while remaining 50 lakhs Accident insurance scheme is from United India Insurance on payment of an annual premium of Rs.885/- (from employees).

MoU accident insurance Scheme with SBI was made on 19-10-2022 while with United India Insurance on 14-11-2022.

After the agreements made under the schemes,Mr. J.S.Umesh,Driver Cum Conductor Badge No-1113, Chitradurga Depot,Chitradurga Division died on 20.11.2022 in an unfortunate Bus accident.He was 35 years old and had served 8 years in KSRTC.

He has a 2-year-old son and a 4-year-old daughter and is survived by his wife and Mothe-in-law. KSRTC deeply regrets untimely death of its employee and is distributing a cheque of Rs.1 crores for the compensation under the new insurance schemes launched by it for the livelihood of his family.

3) Issue of Inter-Corporation transfer order to 1013 Employees.

Today KSRTC is issuing Inter-Corporation Transfer order to 1013 employees.Symbolically 03 staff would be issued with the transfer order.

4) Release of Internal periodical Publication news magazine ‘ Sarige Sampada’

An internal periodical publication “Sarige Sampada” covering the various activities of the Corporation including implementation of Labour Welfare measures,innovative ideas and inventions,etc. is released today.The internal periodical is distributed to all the employees of the KSRTC.

During the event,a brochure containing information on the various Labour Welfare and Operational improvement initiatives undertaken in KSRTC during the last 7-8 months is also released.

M.R.Sreenivasa Murthy,IAS (Rtd),the Chairman of the expert committee constituted by the Government to rejuvenate all the Transport Corporations of the State,Dr.N.V.Prasad,IAS, Secretary to Government,Transport Department,V. Anbukkumar,IAS,Managing Director,KSRTC,Dr. Naveen Bhat Y,IAS,Director (P&V),KSRTC,Board Directors of KSRTC,P.Rudresh,Arundi Nagaraja,Raju Vittalasa Jarataraghar and leaders of various Labour Unions of KSRTC and Officers/staff of KSRTC were present during the event.
